Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 2024

Beta Notice: Mnexium is currently in beta. This privacy policy reflects our current practices and will be updated as we move toward production. We are committed to transparency and will notify users of any significant changes.

1. Introduction

Mnexium, Inc. ("Mnexium," "we," "us," or "our") provides AI memory infrastructure for developers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including our API, dashboard, and website (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider (Clerk). We may also collect your name and profile information if you choose to provide it.

API Usage Data

When you use our API, we process and store:

  • Chat history and conversation logs (if you enable the log feature)
  • Extracted memories from conversations (if you enable the learn feature)
  • Subject identifiers you provide to organize data
  • System prompts you create and manage
  • API request metadata (timestamps, endpoints called, response times)

Your OpenAI API Key

We require you to provide your own OpenAI API key via the x-openai-key header. This key is used only to proxy requests to OpenAI on your behalf and is not stored by Mnexium. It is transmitted securely and used only for the duration of your API request.

Technical Data

We automatically collect certain technical information including IP addresses, browser type, device information, and usage patterns to maintain and improve our Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Process your API requests and store data you explicitly choose to save
  • Generate embeddings for semantic search functionality
  • Communicate with you about your account and our Service
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve performance
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use ClickHouse for data storage with appropriate access controls. During our beta period, we are continuously improving our security measures as we prepare for production.

Data Isolation: Each project's data is isolated using project-specific identifiers. Your memories, chat history, and prompts are only accessible through your authenticated API keys.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party services that help us operate (e.g., hosting, authentication)
  • OpenAI: Your conversation data is sent to OpenAI when you make API requests (using your own API key)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your data through our dashboard and API
  • Delete individual memories, chat history, and prompts
  • Delete your entire account and associated data
  • Control what data is saved using API parameters (log, learn)

To exercise these rights or for any privacy-related questions, please use our contact form.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Service. You can delete specific data at any time through the dashboard or API. When you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Beta Considerations

As a beta service, please be aware that:

  • Features and data handling practices may change as we develop the product
  • We recommend not storing highly sensitive personal information during the beta period
  • We will provide notice of significant changes to this policy
  • Your feedback helps us build better privacy practices for production

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
